S stand for Scraps
In this part of the site I will stir your imagination to come up with different projects, uses, and creative outlets for your throwaways. My rule is if it’s bigger than 3” by 3” keep it, I will use it later.
Here are some ideas that I will later do articles on with how to with pics. These are used for accents or to create whole projects, or (when you don’t have enough fabric because, you got it out of Aunt Annie’s closet, but, you have to have that adorable fabric for a dress for you granddaughter). Whatever the reason save your scrap, they can be used for:
- Pockets
- Yokes
- Appliqués, I will do a whole article on these, how to do and where to get patterns
- Trim
- Multiple layer dress or skirts
- Toys
- Doll clothes
- Facing
- Contrast
- Knit shirt necklines
- Neck, sleeve, or bottom bands
- Faking it when there is not enough fabric
- Lining
